Graphic Design thesis project surrounding the implementation of movement into the everyday lives of those who struggle with mental health. Mental Moves is an accumulation of over a year's worth of research and creative ideation. The final piece was a secluded standing booth that offered a safe space, lightly guided by a narrator to foster an intuitive exploration of movement. Mental Moves aims to highlight free-form movement as a therapeutic approach for mental health management. Fundamental to this perspective is the recognition of the interconnection between the human mind and body. The conventional perception is that emotions and memories are exclusively processed and retained in the mind. Contrary to this, Mental Moves acknowledges that the body also actively participates in the storage and manifestation of these psychological aspects. These include memories that may no longer be present in the mind. Mental Moves implores the viewer to explore movement of the body as a medium to release harbored emotions, stress, and trauma.
